THE STORY BEHIND NUTRITION & LIFESTYLE CONSULTING

I grew up in Central New York where I currently reside. As a kid I played many sports, but ultimately chose to pursue hockey. Early in my teenage years, I became interested in fitness and nutrition, having seen the positive impact that it had on my athletic performance. Unfortunately, this interest turned into an obsession with my weight and body image. At one point in high school, I was consistently consuming under 1,000 calories a day while training, practicing, and competing at a high level. This stage of life was unhealthy and challenging, but I’m forever grateful for the lessons I learned and the growth that resulted from those struggles. Though it took time and effort, I was able to redevelop my relationship with food and embrace the fact that calories are what fuels us, rather than something to severely restrict. As I emerged from high school and went on to play in college and professionally, I developed a passion for creating a truly healthy and well-balanced lifestyle; one that is rich in foods that are wholesome and nutritious, exercise that is enjoyable and rewarding, and experiences that center us in joy and gratitude. For years, I’ve dreamed of having a platform that allows me to share that passion with others and make a difference in people’s lives. That dream has now become a reality and I’m pleased to offer Nutrition & Lifestyle Consulting to help my clients achieve the best version of themselves.

THE STORY BEHIND ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE CONSULTING

My vision for Athletic Performance Consulting is to be the resource and mentor that I wish I had as a young, intense and highly competitive athlete. Throughout my athletic career, my performance was often hindered by a lack of consistency in the mental side of my game. I frequently put too much pressure on myself, and sometimes struggled to believe in my ability. Since retiring from hockey, I’ve spent years listening to, conversing with and observing various sports psychologists, coaches and professional athletes to gain an understanding on what constitutes a high performing mindset. My goal for Athletic Performance Consulting is to help athletes achieve their version of this mindset, based on who they are as an individual. There is certainly no “one size fits all” approach and everyone needs something slightly different to make them tick. My hope is to identify that need and provide tools and techniques to help my clients feel strong, stable and confident so they can maximize their potential and perform at their best.
